Brothers and sisters,
Life moves fast, and it is easy to feel overwhelmed. God wants us to slow down and find peace by trusting Him. When we stop trying to control everything, we can finally hear His voice and feel His presence.
We live in a world that demands our constant attention. We are pushed to run faster, work harder, and do more, often at the cost of our own peace. We are taught that our value comes from what we produce and that silence is just “empty space.” But today, I want to offer you a different way: the call to stop.
Stopping is not for the lazy; it is a vital spiritual practice. When we stop striving, we are not failing. We are finally positioning ourselves to hear the voice that brings peace to our chaos.
Scripture Reading
Psalm 46:10
“Be still, and know that I am God.”
Reflection
In our modern world, we often think that being busy means we are making progress. We fill our calendars and our minds until there is no room left for quiet. However, the Psalmist reminds us that there is profound power in stillness.
Being still is more than just sitting quietly; it is about calming the inner noise—the worry, the planning, and the stress—to acknowledge who is truly in charge. When we stop trying to control every outcome, we create the space needed to recognize that God is in control. Today, choose to let go and simply rest in the truth that He is God.
A Prayer for Today
Lord, thank You for being my safe place when life feels overwhelming. My mind is often loud and busy, but I want to slow down and breathe. Please remind me that You are in control so I don’t have to be. I am choosing to let go of my worries and simply rest in Your presence. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Action Step
Take five minutes today—without your phone or any distractions—to sit in silence. Use this time simply to acknowledge God’s presence and offer Him whatever is weighing on your heart.
If this message spoke to you, say “Amen” in the comments and share it with someone who needs a moment of peace today.
