Have you ever felt like God is far away—like your prayers don’t quite reach Him?
Maybe you’ve been carrying a heavy heart, wondering if He even hears you. But here’s the good news: God is not distant by choice. He is waiting for you to take one step toward Him.
Scripture: “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” — James 4:8
Reflection
You don’t need to have it all together. You don’t need perfect words or a perfect life. The moment you sincerely turn your heart toward God—through a simple prayer, a verse you read, or a decision to trust Him instead of worry—that is a step of faith. And every step of faith brings you closer to His heart.
God never turns away anyone who honestly seeks Him. He doesn’t check your past or measure your worthiness. He simply responds to your “yes” with His grace, peace, and strength—enough for every season you face.
Think about it: the very act of drawing near to God is itself an act of faith. And faith is what pleases Him. So don’t wait until you feel ready. Start right now. Whisper His name. Open His Word. Take that step.
A simple way to begin: Pause for sixty seconds. Breathe deeply and say, “Jesus, I’m here.” That is enough. He is already closer than you think.
He is already moving toward you.
Prayer
Dear Lord, I want to draw near to You today. Help me take that first step of faith—whether it’s a quiet prayer, opening Your Word, or simply choosing to trust You. Thank You that You never turn me away. Draw me close, and let me feel Your grace, peace, and strength. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
