Finding Rest in God’s Grace

Brothers and sisters,

As we reach the end of another week, many of us feel the weight of our responsibilities. Whether you are tired from work, weary from life’s challenges, or simply seeking a moment of quiet, remember that this Friday encouragement is for you.

Often, we try to carry the world on our shoulders, thinking we must prove our worth through our own strength. But the heart of faith is realizing that we don’t have to. Humility isn’t thinking less of ourselves; it is thinking of ourselves less and relying on God’s grace more.

A Heart of Gratitude

Before we look forward to the weekend, let’s take a moment to pause and give God the glory for the past seven days. Even in the middle of our struggles, He has been faithful. Whether it was the breath in your lungs, the provision of your daily bread, or the quiet ways He protected you when you didn’t even know it—He deserves our praise. We are grateful for His presence in the highs and the lows of this week, acknowledging that every victory was won by His hand and every challenge was softened by His mercy.

Question:

If you are currently carrying a burden that feels too heavy, why do you believe you have to hold onto it by yourself?

The Truthful Answer:

The truth is that you were never designed to be your own savior. We often cling to our worries because we fear that if we let go, everything will fall apart. However, the Bible reminds us in 1 Peter 5:7 to cast all our anxiety on Him because He cares for us. Your spiritual growth doesn’t come from how much you can endure, but from how much you can surrender. God is not waiting

for you to be perfect; He is waiting for you to be honest about your need for Him.

A Prayer for Your Weekend

Heavenly Father,

We come before You with hearts full of gratitude. We praise You for Your goodness throughout this past week. Thank You for the lessons learned, the doors opened, and the strength provided when we felt weak. We give You all the glory for everything You have done, seen and unseen. Lord, we also come before You acknowledging that we have tried to carry too much on our own. Please take these burdens from our hands and replace them with Your perfect peace. Help us to rest in Your love this weekend and trust that You are working in the details of our lives. Renew our strength and remind us that we are Your children, held securely in Your hands. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
