Good morning, brothers and sisters.
Before we go any further, I want you to think about the last time you felt truly seen. Not just noticed, but seen—the kind of seeing that says, “I know you, and I’m glad you’re here.” That’s the kind of connection God built us for. And it’s the kind of connection we often forget we need.
Let me ask you something: Have you ever tried to carry a heavy box by yourself? You shift it, you strain, you almost drop it. Then someone comes alongside and takes the other side. Suddenly, it’s not impossible anymore. That’s what this message is about today.
There’s something deep in our hearts that longs to belong. We weren’t made to walk this journey alone. Even when life feels heavy, a shared burden becomes lighter. And when joy comes, it multiplies when we celebrate together.
The Bible puts it simply:
“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.”
— Ecclesiastes 4:9–10 (NIV)
Think about that image: falling down is part of being human. We stumble, we get tired, we lose our footing. But when someone is beside us, they don’t just watch—they reach out a hand. That hand might be a kind word, a prayer, a meal shared, or just a quiet presence that says, “I’m here.”
We often think we need to have it all together before we can connect with others. But the truth is, we grow stronger in the connection, not before it. Community isn’t about perfection; it’s about walking forward together, one honest step at a time.
Maybe today you feel isolated, or maybe you’re the one who can offer a hand. Either way, God designed us to need each other. When we share our lives—our struggles and our victories—we reflect His love in a way that changes everything.
A prayer for today:
Lord, thank You that I don’t have to do life alone. Help me to be honest about my needs and open to giving help. Show me someone I can encourage today, and give me the courage to reach out when I’m the one who needs lifting up. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
