Good morning, brothers and sisters,
Let’s open our hearts to God’s Word together. This morning, we find ourselves in the book of Acts, right at the birth of the church. The believers had just received the Holy Spirit, and something remarkable was happening. They were no longer fearful or scattered. Instead, they were united, filled with purpose, and overflowing with joy. Look closely at the words: they worshiped together at the Temple each day. Not once a week. Not when it was convenient. Every single day. And what was the result? They were praising God, and they enjoyed the goodwill of all the people. That’s a beautiful picture of what happens when a community truly lives out its faith.
Now, as we sit with this passage, I want you to imagine that scene for a moment. Picture ordinary men and women, from all walks of life, coming together daily. They shared meals, they prayed, they remembered Jesus. And their joy was so genuine that even outsiders looked at them with respect and affection. There was no pretense, no pressure. Just hearts full of gratitude and lives marked by kindness. That is the kind of community God longs for us to experience even today. And the good news is, it’s not out of reach. It starts right here, right now, in your heart and in mine.
You might be thinking, “But my life is busy. I have work, family, responsibilities. How can I worship daily?” That’s a fair question. But daily worship doesn’t mean hours of formal prayer. It means turning your heart toward God throughout the day. It’s a whispered thank-you in the morning, a moment of awe when you see a sunset, a silent plea for strength before a difficult conversation. When you begin to weave these small moments of praise into your everyday life, something shifts. You become more aware of God’s presence. And that awareness fills you with a quiet, steady joy. That joy, in turn, spills over into your interactions. People notice. They see a calmness in you, a warmth. They see the goodwill of God reflected in your face.
Let me encourage you today: you don’t have to wait for a perfect church or a perfect group of friends. You can start right where you are. Gather with your family at dinner and say a simple blessing. Text a friend and share a verse that encouraged you. Smile at a stranger and offer a kind word. These are all acts of daily worship. And when you do them with a sincere heart, you’ll find that you’re not just going through the motions—you’re genuinely praising God. And just like the early believers, you’ll begin to enjoy goodwill with those around you. Not because you’re perfect, but because God’s love is shining through you.
Let’s close this time with a simple prayer. Father, thank You for the example of the early church. Thank You for the joy that comes from worshiping You every day. Teach us to praise You in the small moments, and let our lives be filled with goodwill toward others. Help us to be people of joy, peace, and kindness, so that others may see Your love in us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Go now, and carry that joy with you. Remember, you are not alone. You are part of a family—the family of God. And when you worship daily, you’ll find that joy is not just something you feel, but something you share. May the Lord bless you and keep you, and may His face shine upon you today. Amen.
