(Galatians 6:2, NIV):
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
Reflection:
Dear friend,
If you’re reading this, chances are you know someone who’s going through a hard time. Maybe they’ve lost a job, walked through a breakup, or just feel overwhelmed by life. And you want to help—but sometimes it’s hard to know what to do. You’ve prayed for them, you’ve listened, and still you wonder, Is there more?
The good news is: yes, there is. And it doesn’t have to be grand or dramatic. God often uses small, faithful acts to carry heavy burdens.
Maybe it’s bringing over a warm meal on a busy night. Maybe it’s sending a text that says, “No need to reply, just praying for you today.” Maybe it’s sitting with them in silence when words aren’t enough. These simple things matter. They say, I see you. I’m here. You’re not alone.
Carrying someone’s burden doesn’t mean fixing everything. It means walking alongside them, the way Jesus walks with us—patient, kind, and present. You don’t need all the answers. You just need to show up with love.
And here’s a gentle reminder: you can’t pour from an empty cup. Ask God for wisdom and strength. Let Him fill you first, so you can be a steady friend to someone else.
Today, think of one small, practical way you can help a friend. It doesn’t have to be perfect. Just do it with love, and trust God to do the rest.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for carrying my burdens. Teach me to be a safe place for others—to listen, to serve, and to love like You do. Show me what my friend needs today, and give me the courage to act. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
A Simple Step:
Reach out to a friend who’s struggling and offer one specific kind of help—a meal, a ride, or just an hour of your time. Let them know you care, not just with words, but with action.
