A Daily Dose of Encouragement: Trusting God Through the Ups and Downs

Bible Verse:

“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10 (NIV)

Brothers and Sisters,

Let me ask you something this morning: When was the last time you truly stopped—not just paused, but stopped—and let God have your full attention? We live in a world that never slows down. Our minds race from one worry to the next, and our hearts carry burdens we were never meant to bear alone. But today, I want to remind you of a truth that has held me steady through every storm: God is still on the throne, and He is still in control.

Now, I know some of you are thinking, “But you don’t understand my situation. It’s too heavy. It’s too messy.” And you’re right—I don’t know every detail of your struggle. But I know the One who does. And He’s not asking you to have all the answers. He’s asking you to be still.

That’s where the message of today’s devotional begins—right in the middle of your chaos, right where you feel like you’re losing your grip.

Some days, life feels like a bumpy dirt road. You’re holding on tight, wondering if you’ll make it through the next curve. Maybe you’re worried about a bill, a relationship, or just the weight of the world. I’ve been there too.

But here’s what I’m learning: we don’t have to have it all figured out. God doesn’t ask us to be strong enough—He asks us to be still enough. Still enough to let Him take the wheel.

When you feel like you’re spinning, stop. Take a breath. Whisper that verse to yourself: “Be still, and know that I am God.” He’s not surprised by your trouble. He’s already working behind the scenes.

Today, let’s choose trust over worry. Let’s choose peace over panic. You don’t have to do this alone.

Prayer:

Dear Lord,

Please help me slow down and remember You are in control. Give me the courage to let go of my fears and rest in Your love. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

If this devotional encouraged you, share it with someone who needs a little hope today. Let’s spread kindness, one quiet moment at a time.
