Brothers and sisters,
There are seasons when doing the right thing seems to shut doors instead of open them. Think of Moses standing before Pharaoh, Joseph in a prison cell, David fleeing for his life, and Jesus obedient unto the cross. Their faith did not guarantee comfort or clear paths — it guaranteed God’s presence in the hard places. The question before you is not only “Will you obey?” but “Will you trust Him when obedience costs you?”
Obedience sometimes moves us deeper into difficulty because God is shaping a larger story through our trials. Faith is formed not when everything makes sense but when we believe God through delay, loss, and confusion. Trials test and refine us; they produce perseverance, humility, and dependence on the Lord. In those moments, God is at work — not always rescuing us from pain immediately, but growing Christlike character in us and revealing His faithfulness in ways we could not have chosen for ourselves.

– Where has obedience cost you, and how did that season shape your faith?
– What small step of trust can you take today, even if the outcome is unclear?
Prayer…
Lord Jesus,
When obedience brings hardship, help me to trust You more, not less. Give me courage to stay faithful when I don’t see the end, peace to rest in Your presence when life feels broken, and eyes to notice Your work in the trial. Strengthen my faith and use my story for Your glory. Amen.
Explanation: Doing the right thing won’t always fix your problems immediately. That doesn’t mean God has left you or that you were wrong. Often God asks for not only your obedience but your trust — believing He is with you and working even when life is hard. Trust grows in the struggle, and over time that trust brings strength, hope, and a closer relationship with God.
